Does anyone know where to buy Mad Pottery or do they have a web site?

Hi Mike,
First off, let me say welcome to the Caper Corner!
The Mad Potters were operating out of Sydney Mines but I'm not sure they are still in operation. If I'm not mistaken, it was a group of nuns was it not?
I'll ask around for you and let you know.

Thank you, yes it was run by a group of nuns. My Dad, John Leach, was a mad potter with Blaise Vickers and Collin Fifoot. My Dad passed away two years ago. I just set up a pottery shop for someone here in Sarnia and she would like to try to make some of their pottery. Even if someone had some pics, that would help.

I may be able to rustle up some pictures for you. I can also talk to Blaise, he knows my father from his days as a firefighter.
Maybe we can set you up with some pictures.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. If you are talking to Blaise, say hello for me. I remember Blaise when I was growing up and he was always good to us.

Hi Mike,
Just an update on what I have for you so far. The Mad Potters are no longer in operation since Sr. Rooney passed away. Before she died she had some of her moulds destroyed, as far as I know, because she didn't want her creations to be "re-created". Out of respect for this I can not allow myself to take pictures of the Mad Potter items in our family. I will, however, ask my father to speak with Blaise to see if there is anything that Sr. Rooney would have permitted to be done elsewhere.
Her work, and the work of the others in Mad Potters, is truely unique and beautiful. It's a shame that the work passed away when she did but the wonderful pottery created in her time will always be here.

If it was Sister Rooney's wishes not to have her creations re-created, then I will respect her wishes and not have any of her work copied. I would however like to find a piece for myself with my Dad's name on it. I know we had lots when I was growing up but they didn't mean too much to me then. Thanks again.

Hey Mike,
Glad to have you back.
What type of error message are you getting when you try to check your PM's? Are you using the link at the bottom of the page?

When I log in, a popup says I have 2 new PM's, would you like to check them. When I click yes, this is what comes up. Caper Corner :: An Error Has Occurred An Error Has Occurred Invalid addModule call. I've been having some problems with my computer and I think that's where the problem is, IE6 downloads but won't install, I am having it checked or chucked soon.
