I am looking for information about John Ryan of Spaniard's Bay Newfoundland who worked in Sydney Mines between 1944 and 1945. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tony,
Any other info you have would be appreciated. Did he work in the mines? Was he a fisherman? Do you know the street he lived on or do you have his date of birth?

John Ryan went to work in the mines after the shut down of the coal mines at Bell Island. IT is possible that he may have stay with or nearby members of the Seymour family or relatives of them. They as well, moved from Spaniard's Bay and relocated to the Sydney Mines area and possibly New Waterford. He returned to Spaniard's Bay in 1945 and passed away in 1946 at the age of 42.
