I've seen some simple ideas to try to attempt to force the oil companies to drive down the price of gas at the pumps. Among them were:
a - refuse to buy gas on a specific day of the week.
b - buy gas from anybody other than the two major Canadian gas companies, which are now one, Petro-Can and Shell.
While creative, I personally, don't see the first one working as it will just increase the amount of gas purchased on the remaining 6 days of the week.
The second idea is something that could possibly work but it would require a huge number of people being diligent and not fraying from the millions of people needed to make an impact. The biggest victims with this option are the retailers who run the gas stations. They make very little on a litre of gasoline now as it is.
With this in mind, what can be done about the current gas situation? How can the consumer make the biggest impact with the root of the problem, for that matter, who is at the root of the problem?
