All Schools to Close
As of the end of classes today, all schools within the jurisdiction of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board will close, with the exception of Holy Angels High School in Sydney. This notice includes all schools not previously announced as being closed, including all elementary schools.
The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board has determined that conditions at its schools make them unfit for occupancy. The schools will remain closed until further notice. The closure affects approximately 18,500 students.
Further notices about the distribution of homework packages and report cards to students at affected schools will follow. Information about the re-opening of the schools will be provided on the school board website at www.cbv.ns.ca and through local media.
