Trailer Park Boys eye Hollywood CBC News
HALIFAX – There will be even more witnesses to Julian and Ricky's schemes next year.
The producers of the cult TV show the Trailer Park Boys have confirmed the rumours those naughty Sunnyvale boys will be on the big screen.
Film crews will start shooting the Trailer Park Boys movie June 20.
"The challenge is to introduce it to a first-time audience, yet please our fans...who know the series very well," said Mike Clattenberg, the creator and director of the series.
"I'm very confident that we can do it."
Clattenberg has a big-name Hollywood producer backing the whole project: Ivan Reitman. The man behind the blockbusters Meatballs and Ghostbusters is the executive producer of the film.
"You know I'm a Canadian, I go to see them on television. I think this is a very funny group of guys and we think it will translate," Reitman said.
The plan is to release the film in Canada next summer, with the hope that it will then attract the interest of an American studio.
The budget for the movie is less than $5 million. And in true Trailer Park Boys style, it will likely have an R rating for the language, violence and drug references the show is known for.

I would stand in line to see this! TPB rules and I think they've earned their chance to hit the big screen!
Bubbles is the man!

I agree. Unfortunately I don't have Showcase so I don't get to watch it anymore. But I do see some while at work. And Bubbles is the man. And to think, he was only suppose to appear on one show. I think he is the face (and an odd one at that) to the TPB's.

Adnohr! You're alive?!!!!
Glad to see you back. Hopefully the outtakes, if they include them, will be better for the movie than they were for the DVD release of the first two seasons.
