I didn't think there were 2 pieces of property in Cape Breton that would add up to a combined worth of $24 million dollars but I thought wrong.
Sydney's Commerce Tower and Harbour Place have been purchased by a Toronto group for more than a combined $24 million dollars from Harbour Royale Development(HRD). HRD's President, Martin Chernin said his group will continue to manage the properties.
Harbour Place houses law courts, the Sheriff’s Office and prothonotary’s office while Commerce Tower houses the federal government department, Human Resources Skills Development Canada, legal aid offices, CIBC and other businesses.
Harbour Royale Development still owns 500 George Place, the TD Bank building, Stream call centre building in Glace Bay, LHC building and Joe’s Warehouse on Charlotte Street, as well as buildings in Glace Bay and Port Hawkesbury.
