Excellent news for Halifax but do you think they will toss the Mooseheads? Its a hard call to make when they bring in so much money for the City.

Halifax is a great hockey town, no doubt about it. But I will say that Haligonians like a winning product on the ice!! The MooseHeads can average 8000 fans with a top 5 team, but if they continue to be as bad as last year, people lose interest and therefore the Moose lose support. The corporate side of things suck up alot of the season tickets. They want to impress clients and give them a great night out. If the team is hurting, corporate companies may by 2 tickets for the season instead of 8. If the WHA can put a good product on the ice, they could do well. If they can have a few top notch players, the fans could flock to see a guy like Brett Hull. A guy like Hull would be a god in HFX!! I think both teams will suffer in some way and if the Moose does not get better real quick, they will be the ones forgotten. The WHA is fresh, people want to see what's its all about. I think they would do very well to start the season, then it will dwidle. Personally, I love my JR hockey, but the Moose games I saw last year were not very entertaining, just a night out.

Personally, I think that if the NHL can resolve it's CBA issues and prevent a lockout next season, the WHA will be the next XFL. Remember the XFL anybody?
As Manizo said, it will be big at first but could die out fast outside of the cities it exists in.
